Former US President Joe Biden has given his first in-depth interview since he left the White House in January, speaking to the BBC about his legacy, foreign policy and his view of President Donald Trump’s first 100 days.

He said that he had few regrets, but he offered grave warnings about global affairs as Europe marks 80 years since the end of World War Two on the continent.

Biden spent much of his time in public office – as a senator, vice-president and president – focusing on US foreign policy, and it remains a top concern. Read more

Pakistan leader vows to avenge India’s “act of war” after missile strikes (CBS)

India fired missiles into Pakistani-controlled territory in several locations early Wednesday, killing at least 26 people including a child, in what Pakistan’s leader called an act of war. India said it struck infrastructure used by militants linked to last month’s massacre of tourists in the Indian-administered portion of Kashmir, a disputed mountainous region that the nuclear-armed neighbors have fought two previous wars over.

Pakistan said it had shot down several Indian fighter jets in retaliation, and three planes fell onto villages in India-administered Kashmir, according to local media and witnesses. At least seven civilians were also killed in the region by Pakistani shelling, Indian police and medics said.

Tension has soared between India and Pakistan since the terrorist attack in which gunmen killed 26 people, mostly Indian Hindu tourists, in a popular meadow in Kashmir, in some cases killing men as their wives looked on. Read more

Trump officials set 1st meeting with China amid tariff war (Newsweek)

Top US officials will meet with a senior Chinese delegation in Switzerland this weekend, marking the first major talks between the two countries since President Donald Trump launched a trade war with sweeping tariffs on imports.

The administration announced the meeting on Tuesday, signaling a possible thaw in relations amid mounting economic concerns at home.

Although President Trump has previously claimed that the US and China were already negotiating tariff reductions, Beijing has publicly denied that talks had begun, insisting that the US must first lower its punitive tariffs. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent appeared to clarify the situation during testimony before a House committee Tuesday, stating that the two sides “have not engaged in negotiations,” but added that “as early as this week,” the U.S. would be announcing new trade deals with some of its largest trading partners. Charly Suarez treating Emanuel Navarrete title fight as once-in-a-lifetime shot (BoxingScene)

For the past two years, Charly Suarez has been biding his time and exercising patience as he awaited a world title opportunity. It was around that time, in March of 2023, when the Filipino fighter first became a legitimate contender at 130lbs, pulling a last-ditch victory over the previously unbeaten Paul Fleming in Fleming’s hometown of Sydney, Australia.

Trailing on all three cards heading into the 12th round, Suarez dropped Fleming with a left hook and then pummeled the weary fighter until the referee had no choice to stop the fight with just 62 seconds left.

Suarez, 18-0 (10 KOs), believed that victory would lead him to a title fight, but what ensued was a series of events that tested him mentally, including a canceled title eliminator against Andres Cortes last September, leading Suarez to fight a series of tune-ups while he waited for his time to come. Mike Tyson calls Floyd Mayweather “delusional” over outrageous claim (Mirror)

Mike Tyson has savagely criticised Floyd Mayweather Jr following the latter’s bold assertion that he was better than boxing great Muhammad Ali.

Ali – who is regarded as one of the biggest names in the history of boxing – transcended the sport of boxing. The icon is the only fighter to win the lineal heavyweight championship on three occasions and his legacy includes epic showdowns like the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ with George Foreman.

That said, during an interview with First Post, Mayweather Jr expressed his belief that he’s the biggest star. “I feel like I’ve done just as much in the sport as Ali,” he confidently declared. “It is hard for a guy like me, still sharp at 38. No disrespect to Ali, but I feel like I am the best. Ali lost in his career to Leon Spinks. He lost some other fights and is still known as the greatest. That is what it is”. Read more
