The number of people infected by the novel coronavirus in Nigeria has increased to 573 the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said.
Making the announcement via its verified Twitter handle Monday night, NCDC notes that the total number of confirmed cases in the country is now 16,658.
Of that number, 5,349 have been discharged from the isolation centres across the country having tested negative, while 424 deaths have sadly been recorded.
The current figures show Lagos State reclaiming it’s pole position in the number of cases recorded with 216 new infections, followed by Rivers State with 103. They are the only two states out of the 19 and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) listed with a three-digit figure.
