A fire broke out on Thursday at the General Hospital in Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos, engulfing parts of the hospital’s three-storey building and sparking panic among onlookers.
A Facebook user, Modinat Melemuku, who shared a video from the scene, wrote, “Happening now at General Hospital Ifako-Ijaiye, College Road. Please repost. Help is needed.”
Firefighters were seen arriving at the scene to battle the blaze, as thick smoke billowed from the structure.
Eyewitnesses expressed concern that nursing mothers and infants might be trapped inside, although there were no confirmed reports of casualties at the time of filling this report. (Punch)
