Ahead of his 39th birthday on October 11, some social media followers of self-confessed international fraudster, Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi, have begun to send him birthday wishes.
Hushpuppi boasts of over 2.5 million followers on Instagram alone and had taken great pride in himself as a social media influencer before the Dubai Police arrested him in June 2020 alongside 12 other members of his gang.
Transferred to FBI for prosecution
The Dubai Police said it discovered that fraud amounting to 1.6 billion Dirham (N168b) had been committed by the gang.
No fewer than 1,926,400 people from different parts of the world were also said to have fallen victims to the suspects.
According to the Dubai police, 13 luxury cars, estimated at 35 million Dirham (N3.7b) were recovered from the house where they were arrested.
The Dubai Police later handed Abbas and his conspirators over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in the United States where Hushpuppi and his gang are facing charges, including conspiracy to commit money laundering, among others.
Before his exposure last year June, Hushpuppi dazzled his fans with photos of himself lounging in beautiful beaches, riding in posh cars and private jets.
Ever clad in expensive designer ensemble that include gold-studded wrist watches that put most outfits in the shade, Hushpuppi also wrote motivational and inspirational quotes to millions of youths on social media, encouraging them to “work hard.”
As he clocks 39 later in October 2021 nestling in an American underground jail, scores of his loyal followers on social media have since gathered under his last Instagram post to wish him a ‘Happy Birthday.’The June 6, 2020 post of an expensive white Rolls Royce was captioned, “May success and prosperity not be a “once upon a time” story in your life… 🙏.
