Nigeria now has 242 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the new tally to 4,641, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said.
The NCDC Monday night confirmed the new cases bringing the number in the country to 4, 641.
The NCDC tweeted the figures via its official Twitter @NCDCgov while giving the breakdown of infections from 13 states and FCT as follows: 88-Lagos, 64-Kano, 49-Katsina, 13-Kaduna, 9-Ogun, 6-Gombe, 4-Adamawa and 3-FCT. While Ondo, Oyo, Rivers, Zamfara, Borno and Bauchi recorded one case each.
NCDC added that 902 patients have been discharged across the country and 150 deaths have so far occurred.
The agency of government also corrected the figures for Sunday, admitting that there had been an error for Nasarawa.
“On the 10th of April 2020, we erroneously announced 2 new deaths in Nasarawa. There was 1 death in Nasarawa reported on the 10th of April. We apologise to the State Government for this error, & remain committed to providing accurate data,” NCDC tweeted.
Worldwide, over four million people have been infected with this coronavirus which has resulted in as many as over 280,000.
