An octogenarian, Abdurrahman Amadu of Tora village in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State, will on January 16, 2019 be arraigned before a Federal High Court in Katsina for alleged possession of counterfeit dollars.
A legal advice from the state Ministry of Justice stated that a prima facie case had been established against him, noting that he allegedly committed the offence, which is contrary to Section 9 (f) of the Penal Code and Section 5(a),(b) and (c) of the Counterfeit Currency Special Provision Act, LFN,2004.
It consequently recommended his trial at the Federal High Court.
The legal advice read in part, “That for the 1st suspect to have collected 41 pieces and before his arrest, used seven pieces, which he could not give their account, means that he had a bad intention.” Read more
