The management of Silverbird Group late last year named Delta State Governor, Ifenyi Okowa, Silverbird Man of the Year 2018. Okowa may have secured the highest number of votes sent in by respondents to emerge victorious but he was nominated for ensuring peace and security in Delta State, youth empowerment, sports development, as well as infrastructure development, especially road construction, even in riverine communities, earning him the name “Roadmaster”.
Silverbird presented the award to him on Sunday, alongside others nominated in different categories. The event that drew the high and mighty in their numbers, held at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
