Tinubu makes new appointments

President Bola Tinubu has appointed three directors-general and a special adviser on media and public communications, according to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy).

The announcement reflects the administration’s commitment to strategic leadership in key sectors.

The appointees include Mr. Olawale Olopade as Director-General of the National Sports Commission. Olopade, a seasoned sports administrator, previously served as Ogun Stateโ€™s commissioner for youth and sports and chaired the local organizing committee of the 2024 National Sports Festival.

Dr. Abisoye Fagade, a marketing communications expert and founder of Sodium Brand Solutions, will lead the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism as its new Director-General. Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, formerly the director of research and strategic planning at the Bureau of Public Procurement, has been elevated to head the bureau.

Daniel Bwala, a lawyer and respected public affairs analyst, has been appointed Special Adviser on Public Communications and Media, reinforcing the State Houseโ€™s media engagement strategy.

President Tinubu urged the appointees to uphold dedication, patriotism, and excellence in their duties as they contribute to Nigeriaโ€™s progress.
