A staff of University of Lagos (UNILAG) staff identified as Sunday Meshioye reportedly committed suicide by drinking Sniper after facing a disciplinary panel set up to investigate an incident he was allegedly involved in. The deceased faced the disciplinary panel after the UNILAG bus he was driving got burnt. It was gathered that Meshioye took the deadly pesticide on Wednesday, September 11, a day after facing the disciplinary panel. Read more

If Canada is the destination for foreign education, the chance of a Nigerian getting a study permit from the authorities is an abysmal 29 percent, according to a report published by Polestar Students Immigration News. According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) statistics on the top 25 countries that apply for Canadian study permit and their rejection rates between January and May 2019, Nigeria is the country with the third highest rejection rate – a position it shares with Pakistan. A man has been charged with murder after allegedly killing his 11-month-old son by throwing him into a river. Zak Eko, 22, is accused of of throwing Zakari William Bennett-Eko into the water in his moses basket after going out to buy milk. Emergency services were called to the River Irwell, in Radcliffe, before 4.25pm, following reports that an infant had been thrown from a bridge. Read more

The remains of a man who went missing two decades ago in Florida have been found in a submerged car visible on Google Maps. William Moldt, was reported missing from Lantana, Florida, on 7 November 1997. He failed to return home from a night out at a club when he was 40 years old.
